Why Arizuma Horizons?

Our name has significance. Arizuma was a name given for the region in which Arizona is found. Arizuma is another name for Arizona. The origin of this name has been widely debated; of all the explanations given, we prefer to believe that this is the name the Aztecs gave to the region. Arizuma means “silver bearing” referring to the highly prized silver found in our rock and which was traded by the ancient Mesoamerican peoples for the Aztec chocolate… and we all love our chocolate!

We adapted the word, Arizuma, or “silver bearing” to refer to the process we go through as we all grow in wisdom and our hair reflects that highly prized silver glow; a symbol of accomplishment and respect. We are all “silver bearing”, but with some of us the silver is simply more evident. “Horizons” represents our lives… all of the days that have gone before and all of the days yet to come. It represents the point at which a new day’s sun gently peaks over the horizon, bringing promise and wellbeing.
